Can you guess...

what the theme of this WIP is? Think fairy tale.

Looking at this stack makes me wonder about other people's stashes. I feel like my pieces of stash look bulky and not neatly stored compared to everyone else. Are y'all just buying little fat quarters? Two-yard lengths just don't display like those tidy piles I see around the craftosphere. I'd like to have tidy piles, too, but I definitley can't make my self a shirt out of a fat quarter.

First correct guess about the fabric wins a little surprise something.

Speaking of winning — Joanna never claimed her sweater apron prize. Joanna, if you are out there, please drop me an email, so I can send it off. I'll wait a couple more days, until Friday, Oct. 3, then I'll draw another name.

My guess is Little Red Riding Hood. The red tipped me off! PS. I love that tree fabric. And PPS., my stash is not the neat little pile you've described either!

At first I thought they were little mattresses for The Princess and the Pea but then I realized they were folded fabrics. (it's monday)They have a very Hansel and Gretl lost in the forest feel to me.

For some reason, this makes me think of Hanzel and Gretle. The whole forest thing and then the red reminds me of candy? I don't know, maybe it's far fetched!

Either that or Rapunzel for some reason, but I don't have any idea why!!

I think it looks like The Three Little pigs. House of straw, sticks and bricks. And don't worry my fabric is not neat little stacks either.

i thought hansel and gretl too. and red riding hood as well, very into the woods look about it all.
hope you are doing well... i am deep into making a little vegetable patch, and if i didn't think i was allergic to those tasty peppers i would put them on the list to plant in the spring. might anyway and tempt fate.

My first thought was red riding hood. & you better believe my stash doesn't look so neat.

Some sort of Halloween costume perhaps.

My stash is lucky to be folded at all. I get in a hurry or start digging frantically and I just shove it all someplace. It doesn't complain much though, so it musn't be suffering from the lack of neatness too terribly. LOL

a costume seems to obvious...how about a fabric mosiac...something that will hang on the wall, but depict a fairy tale scene...that is my guess...

Can't wait to see what it really is!

i have no idea what it is, but I LOVE the fabrics. you wouldn't want to see my stash, it is a hideous squish of large (4-5 yard) lengths that basically don't fit in the space allotted to them.

No offense to people with neat piles of fabric, but I say you're not crafting/sewing if your place isn't a mess! I cheated and read through the comments first and I have to say the three little pigs is a good guess!

I think the theme is root canals!

I have some of that green tree fabric myself, but I may get rid of it because I don't love it. Let me know if you need it for a project.

I buy my favorites in 2 or 2.5 yard increments so that I can make a dress or a skirt and top when the time arrives. Some of the ones that I know I'll use for outfits for Harlan I just get in 1 yard increments. I don't do FQs though.

Well, 1st I was thinking 3 Little Pigs, then Hansel and Gretel but since both of those have already been taken I'll go with Robin Hood.

And my stash? in boxes and bags in the attic, probably not even folded anymore. So I'd say you're doing pretty good.

Well if it's not Little Red Riding Hood (my first guess) or Hansel & Gretel (my second), at least now you know that many people think these fabrics would work for those fairy tales.

And if I really love a fabric, I buy two yards. My stash, though, is nowhere near pretty enough to photograph. It looks like the shelf exploded.

I'm guessing Wizard of Oz, because the gold reminds me of the yellow brick road. (Or "Woz Bizzard" as my daughter calls it.)

Maybe Snow White and Rose Red? Reminds me of the cottage in the woods...but of course it could be Little Red Riding Hood also

Ohh someone else picked Rapunzel, I just had that thought even though Red Riding hood makes more sense. I'm thinking woodsman outfit?

I'm with you - my stash of fabric seems to topple everywhere and end up in a heap. I'm not good at guessing but must say that the colours blend together so lovely, makes me want to go and sew something.

Yeah, I was going with hansel and gretel, but I think the Three Little Bears could work too. I guess that's not really a fairy tale.

i'm guessing the three little pigs too. straw, sticks and stone. when most people see my sewing fabrics, they shudder! i'm constantly planning to neaten it though. does that count?

My fabric stash is all crammed into a plastic bin, because my hubby can`t stand to see it. Except for the five yards of fleece I bought the other day to make jammies . . . you think your stash is bulky? Have you ever TRIED to fold 5 yards of heavy fleece into a neat bundle. HA! Hubby is horrified.
