Swap-a-roo and other mail, too

Finally got my bird ATCs into the mail for a swap that the lovely Kristin has organized — looks like lots of good company. While I was at it I also mailed a little something to Claire and Renata. Phew! Man it takes a lot for me to package things up and ship them out with the kidlets around. Who am I kidding — I never liked to post things even before kids. Next up is a mini quilt swap with Jules, which I'm really looking forward to.

For the bird swap I painted six paintings of the same composition and color. I've never done an exercise like that before. I was thinking a lot about Diana from One Blackbird while painting. I just love her scratchy drawing in clay.

I really love this picture! I wish I could draw and paint well. My husband is both a fine and commercial artist and I am often envious of how he can get an idea in his head and make it materialize on a canvas or paper.

The colors in this are wonderful.

The music notes are an adorable touch. At first I thought you made this with your printing press thing. Did you ever put that thing together and use it?

Thanks gals. Again, another fun project.

Angelina: maybe you should post some of your husband's work sometime for us?

Alison: no printing press, yet. you know us, slow, slow, slow.

Carolyn: yep, i already did a watermark tutorial--it's in my July archives.
