This is by far the biggest little craft project of all time for our family. Measuring in at a little more than 600 square feet this funky monkey cabin is also known as our future home. We've owned it for some time, about six years or so, and haven't lived in it yet (no heating, no insulation, a few missing walls, and only some electricity). That's how slow we are at getting projects finished. It took this long for my husband, who works six days a week, to realize that he can't do all the work himself. So, we're actually getting my brother-in-law to paint it. Yippee! A little progress is good for morale, and you need morale when you've been living at your mom's house for four years! I thought this project tied in nicely with Vicki at Turkey Feather's
Finish What You Have idea. The photos, from top to bottom, are: a before picture, a work-in-progress, and a Photoshop simulation of what we think we want it to look like.

That is so stinking adorable. I want one.
I love the red. Welcoming and unique, makes me smile.
Oh my. I think that is the loveliest house ever!
You guys are kind. My husband likes to call it, "Home Crap Home." I think the cuteness factor comes from the playhouse quality and size of it. Remind me how four of us are going to fit in it. What you can't see in these photos are the enormous redwood trees that are only a few feet away. They make it even more storybookish.
hurry up and move up here already..
I need the company! And we are willing to babysit!
are you going to be able to finish this by the end of the month??? i like the red a whole lot, and was a tiny bit disappointed to find it was only photoshopped in, i was so proud of your progress....
looks like it gets great light, very important for crafty folks...
That is such a pretty cottage, Absolutely picturesque!
What a cute house!
I like the original photo - white and green - but the end result is beautiful, and makes it look more expansive as well.
oh i think that house is adorable! i think the red is a nice color for it ;)
That is so cool, how exciting it must be. I actually like the green and white though!!! You will be so happy living there, I mean who wouldn't be!!
Charming, I love the red!
Amazing! I'll take one too!
Fantastic project for "finish what you have month"!
Can we see photos of the inside? :)
It's wonderful...I've been wanting to paint my house red too! When I lived in a tiny house (about that size) it was easier to decorate...because things only fit one way really...and so very cozy! Have fun...
What a great work in progress I love it so far! Keep us posted on the renos!
OOHHH I love it! It's exactly what I want to live in when the kids are gone. I'm packing my bags now...
That is so cute, I need one too!
que lindo! it's amazing what paint can do (even if it is photoshopped!). :)
It's so cute! I'm going to check back in on your blog to see your progress. One of the nice things about living in a small space is having to pare down your possessions to the truly necessary. It's very freeing.
(Pardon me now, I must go declutter!)
Looks really nice!
Hmmm....do I recognize those redwoods?!
Don't worry. When we lived in a similar-sized abode (500 sq. '), the catch phrase was: "Too small? Go outside!"
The best craft project ever. I love living in small places. It's so great to snuggle into your home with everything hidden in nooks and cranies. Having a small place also makes you think about what is really important to you - you don't have a garage to fill up with junk. I'm very jealous. :)
a beautiful little house for a beautiful family!!! It's gorgeous, I'm jealous and it should be featured in an interiors magazine when you've finished because of it's adorableness!
This little house is just so precious... your baby is darling and you are so creative. Thanks for your permission to use your artwork on MotherPie... I'm writing about you on Sunday and hoping my non-flicker audience might enjoy your blog, too.
Cheers!
What an adorable house, you lucky girl who will move into it! I just found a cabin I want to move into too, but it didn't even have floors... So I'll just keep on dreaming!
That just might be the cutest little house I've ever seen!
Oh my, that dark red with white trim is fabulous!
